1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Elephant Enterprises LLC ("Elephant Enterprises," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use TapFam — an application and online platform that enables video calling, messaging, and other communication between family members and close contacts (collectively, the "Platform").
By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
The Platform is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Information you provide when you create an account, such as your name or display name, phone number or email address, profile photo, and authentication credentials.
- Phone number and verification. We use your phone number to create and secure your account and to sign you in. When you register or log in, we send a one-time verification code by SMS text message to confirm that you control the number. To deliver that message, we share your phone number with our SMS verification provider and your mobile carrier. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS verification codes from us; message and data rates may apply.
- Contacts and connections. With your permission, information about the family members and close contacts you choose to connect or communicate with on the Platform. We use this only to enable and improve your communications and do not use it for advertising.
- Communications content. The Platform transmits your video, voice, messages, images, and other content so that it can be delivered to the people you communicate with. We process this content as necessary to provide the service. We do not sell your communications, and we do not use the content of your private communications for advertising.
- Usage and device information. Information about how you use the Platform and the device you use, such as device model, operating system, app version, language settings, log data, IP address, and general diagnostic and performance information.
- Purchase information. If you make a purchase, the applicable app store processes your payment. We receive confirmation of your transaction and subscription status but do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- Support communications. Information you provide when you contact us for support or otherwise correspond with us.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Platform, including connecting you with your contacts and delivering your communications;
- authenticate accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- understand how the Platform is used so we can improve and develop features;
- send you service-related communications, such as security alerts and account or transaction notices; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, property, and safety of our users, the public, and Elephant Enterprises LLC.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With other users. Your communications and the profile information you choose to share are shared with the family members and contacts you communicate with on the Platform.
- With service providers. We share information with vendors who process data on our behalf to operate the Platform — for example, cloud hosting and storage, communications and call infrastructure, SMS delivery for phone-number verification, analytics, and customer support tools. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or in the good-faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, enforce our Terms, respond to claims, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Elephant Enterprises LLC.
- In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. You may request deletion of your account and associated information as described below.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, or to receive a copy of your information in a portable format. Subject to applicable law, you may exercise these rights by contacting us at help@tapfam.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
You can also manage certain choices directly: you may update your profile in the app, manage device permissions (such as camera, microphone, and contacts) through your device settings, and manage or cancel subscriptions through your app store account.
8. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and the information we collect may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
9. Third-Party Services
The Platform may rely on or link to third-party services, including app stores and infrastructure providers. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
10. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended only for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at help@tapfam.app and we will take steps to delete that information.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Platform or by other means. Your continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
